Matthew Broderick and Chloë Sevigny are set to star in the upcoming dark comedy, LOOK AWAY

Matthew Broderick and Chloë Sevigny are set to star in the upcoming dark comedy, LOOK AWAY. Starring as the lead of the film, LOOK AWAY introduces U.K.’s up-and-coming actress, Shannon Tarbet, in the role of ‘Bess Kraft.’ Broderick will play Bess’s father,Murray Kraft, and Sevigny as Bess’s mother, Carolyn Kraft. The film, directed by Andy Delaney and Monty Whitebloom of BigTV! and written by Variety’s Top Ten Writers to Watch Jennifer Schuur, is an exploration of love, relationships, family and the human condition. Alexis Alexanian, Peter Friedlander and Lizzie Nastro will executive produce the film with New Regency also on board as an executive producer and co-financier. Production will begin on June 8th in New York’s Hudson Valley. Locomotive Media, in addition to this project, is working on a development deal with New Regency to create a fund to develop and produce smart, commercial films. This recently formed company has quickly established itself with a robust film slate. ‘With such a high caliber of talent in front of the camera, in conjunction with Delaney & Whitebloom’s unique visual storytelling style, we are excited to be bringing LOOK AWAY to a wide audience’ said Donnelly and Kerry of Locomotive Media. ‘Matthew, Chloë, and Shannon are perfect to complete our inventive vision for this project.’ LOOK AWAY revolves around the heroine, Bess Kraft (Tarbet), a strong, off-beat, thoughtful young woman who is unable to physically see her mother due to a fictional affliction called selective blindness. With the help of an eccentric psychiatrist, Dr. Farmer Smithson, and a local, accidental hero and love interest, Russell, Bess grows up, falls in love, and takes hold of her future. The two-time Tony award-winning stage actor, Matthew Broderick, will next be seen on screen in Dirty Weekend opposite Alice Eve for director Neil LaBute and The Untitled Warren Beatty Project opposite Warren Beatty, Annette Bening and Lily Collins. Broderick is currently starring in the smash Broadway hit It?s Only a Play opposite his frequent co-star Nathan Lane. He previously starred in the award-winning Broadway run of Nice Work If You Can Get It. In 2005, he starred in the feature film version of The Producers, reprising the Tony-nominated performance he gave on Broadway in this smash hit musical.
